EuCheMS provides a powerful single voice for chemists and the chemical sciences in Europe through its activities and development of policy. The organisation can draw upon significant resources, having 50 member societies which in total represent some 150,000 individual chemists in academia, industry and government in over 35 countries across Europe.

Scientific meetings, sponsored events and development of initiatives in specific areas are carried out by Divisions and Working Parties.

EuCheMS promotes educational, professional and ethical matters, including the designation European Chemist (EurChem) through its standing committee ProChemE.
