Professor Giovanni Natile

Professor Giovanni Natile, Past President of the Italian Chemical Society/Societą Chimica Italiana (SCI), became President of EuCheMS in October 2005.Giovanni Natile is Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Universitą degli Studi di Bari, Italy. As President of the Societą, Giovanni Natile has taken vigorous steps to strengthen the editorial policy of the Societą Chimica Italiana and to promote collaboration with other European chemical societies in order to improve their partnership. He has also initiated action to promote the spread of chemical knowledge in society, in accordance with the belief that a better understanding of chemistry means a better future for chemistry.Giovanni Natile is active in the field of organometallic chemistry and bioinorganic chemistry and is author of ca. 200 papers, several book chapters and some patents. He is Coordinator of a National Consortium for the "Chemistry of Metals in Biological Systems" which puts together 20 research teams from different Italian universities. He is/has been a member of the management committee and project leader of several COST Actions (D1, D8, and D20).
