Schedule of Qualifications in Chemistry at the Full Professional Level 

In all cases the qualifications listed in the Category-A Schedule are those awarded after completion of a recognised course in chemistry, whether or not this is indicated in the title of the award. 

Where the title of the qualification is general one (i.e. not specific to chemistry) it is deemed to be included only when taken in chemistry. In cases of doubt, reference should be made to the European Chemist Registration Board.

It should be noted that a category-A qualification normally entitles the holder to proceed directly to study for a doctorate and that a category-A qualification is normally a prerequisite for entry to studies leading to the higher qualifications.
